What is the Structure of One! International
One! International Poverty Relief (One! International) is a registered Canadian charity; a non-government, non-profit, non-sectarian organization working in India.
One! International depends on the financial support primarily from individuals, other organizations and some businesses.
One! International currently has 18 professional staff (full-time and part-time teachers or social workers) and 26 client staff (moms and students who have worked their way toward employment) in India, and volunteers (3-5 at a time) from all over the world.
In Canada, there are numerous volunteers organizing and preparing for the Annual Gala Fundraiser, attendance at community and school functions, as well as completing the multitude of administrative tasks.
A Board of Directors is maintained to ensure that the direction of One! International remains focused and positive for improving the future of the children and families at the two schools in India. The Board, is the ‘voice’ of all the donors and financial supporters. All major decisions of One! International are passed to the Board and must be accepted by the majority of members. The hope is to maintain the ‘human factor’ and the ‘credibility’ of the organization through the people that are represented by the Board.
